Next 5 days

Well it seems we may be in for a rain pounding over the next 5 days. The HPC is predicting 4 plus inches by Sunday afternoon, and since we are already 2 inches in the hole for the year this will help. Now our confidence is building towards a few severe storms in here tonight roughly from an area from near Muscle Shoals to just west of Birmingham and points to the west including Walker and Tuscaloosa Counties. While we do not expect a wide spread outbreak a few storm s could develop and for that reason the SPC has issued a slight risk for West Alabama. This system should push out early on Thursday and then the sun should break out and if that happens the CAPE values look to climb to around 1500j/kg and with surface temps pushing near 70° we could see redevelopment as the front pushes in and those could really pack a punch. The main time frame for this is Noon to 6pm. And the SC sees this and has issued a slight risk for North Alabama. If severe weather breaks tonight or tomorrow I will be in the field and streaming live, and when I do go mobile I will post the link on twitter or you can just check the quick link on the blog home page.
