Well it looks as we could see some significant rains over the next 5 days. The HPC has the bulls eye down in the SE corner of Alabama and into the Florida panhandle, but from Mobile to Huntsville anyone could see 2" up to 4" in spots. We are still looking at the AO (arctic oscillation) going negative again towards the the last week of January into the first week of February. Not real sure how cold it will be or how long the cold will last. As for this system with little or no instability the threat of Severe Weather is not a problem they could be a few storms along the coast but the most unstable air is over the state of Florida. The Craven Brooks Significant Tornado Parameter puts an area right over the northern parts of the Florida Peninsula for Sunday. We have another system coming in next week a well that bares watching but right now not much more than rain is expected. Keep in mind Spring is right around the corner and we have had some very strong storms in the months of February and March as well.
