Sunday

Well snow lovers it looks as if we will miss out again this time. This system has really weakened considerably from the way it looked just 48 hours ago. We are not expecting near the amount of precipitation that we once thought. So as for any weekend snow you can see from the model runs this morning it showed a good little dusting for north Alabama and with the afternoon runs it is gone. Will it return in runs overnight or tomorrow maybe, because some runs show good wrap around moisture but I would not hold my breath. Yes we may see a change over to all snow sometime before sunrise and into the day on Sunday but no accumulations are expected. This will not be our last chance this season as December is a bit early for us in the south to really talk about snow so if we get it it is a bonus, most of our threats come in January and February. At the bottom of the page is the NWS Huntsville HWO for the next 7 days notice they are watching the system on Wednesday close. The 2 models above the HWO are for Wednesday next week. It is going to be another close call on it as well. All models for Sunday below are valid at 1am.
