Winter Wx Advisory


Well the NWS in Huntsville has issued a Winter Wx Advisory from 3am Sunday until 6pm Sunday as well as a wind chill advisory for the same counties you see above. The advisory could be extended into Monday or even upgraded. As you can see by the models above they are all from 1pm on Monday except for the 00z Sunday showing the very cold air invading the South. While we are still not to optimistic about several inches of snow a dusting to 1" is possible across North Alabama with some of the higher elevations in NE Alabama receiving a little more. As you can see the GFS and the NAM still do not agree on the accumulations for North Alabama. This is a tricky system as it will take just a little jog in any direction to completely change our forecast. SO stay tuned as we will be updating via facebook and twitter the changes on going. If you head out after midnight be careful as black ice will develop as the temps fall rapidly.
