Well I hope everyone got to see some snow today. As predicted little to no accumulation across most of North Alabama, but some areas in NE Alabama such as Grant and into Hollywood did receive 1/2 inch or more. We drove through Winchester Tennessee as some of the heavier bands were falling and saw very little accumulations. Further to the ENE more snow was reported. As you can see from the latest radar image more snow accumulations can be expected across NE Alabama tonight. This will not be our last chance this year. We now turn our attention to the pipe bursting cold we will experience over the next 48 to 36 hours. Wind chill values will be near ZERO by daybreak tomorrow. Right now in Madison the windchill is 14F. We will see temps near 15F in the morning with the high only near 25F. On Tuesday the GFS says we should see temps around 35 for a high, but we might just stay below freezing until Wednesday. Also A CHANCE FOR SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP ON WEDNESDAY AS A
WARM FRONT APPROACHES THE AREA. DETAILED IMPACTS CANNOT BE DETERMINED
AT THIS TIME BUT FUTURE FORECASTS SHOULD BE MONITORED FOR UPDATES ON
THIS SYSTEM.
