Winter Mischief On the Way????????????

All information below is for next week.

Well well well what a weird weather pattern we have been in the last few weeks. Brutal cold temps during mid December, a White Christmas across most of the state of Alabama, then just a week later a massive severe weather outbreak across the upper and lower Mississippi Valley. By the way the unofficial tornado count from the New Years eve Outbreak is at 47. Now we are about to see some real good chances for some type of winter weather mischief in the next couple weeks. Notice the AO and the NAO both go negative about mid month with that and a zonal flow in place there will be more than one chance for some type of winter weather. The model outputs below are for next Tuesday Thru Thursday, notice the 540 line (which can be a decent rain/snow line) has the Northern half of the state in the freezer. Also notice all the moisture in place, if this was to pan out we could be looking at some decent snowfall next week. Some models (like the last one below) is showing 5-6" for North Alabama next Tuesday. The models will change with each run, but with that said each run is still showing snow next week so we will fine tune as it gets closer because today is Monday and its 8 days out. Stay tuned for more updates as it gets closer. Also it is looking like when the cold arrives it will stick around a while. We will have our own forecast by the weekend until then we will just be showing these model runs and discussion with you all.
