Moderate Risk Issued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strong wording from the SPC concerning Friday
“AT LEAST A FEW WIND EVENTS AOA 65 KT AND LONG-TRACK/SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE. THEREFORE… SIGNIFICANT-SVR AREA IS BEING INTRODUCED…DRIVING CATEGORICAL MDT RISK WHERE OVERLAID WITH RELATIVELY DENSE 45% TOTAL-SVR PROBABILITY.”
The SPC has all of North Alabama in a Moderate Risk for severe weather on Friday Afternoon and into Saturday Morning and at 45% hatched I would not be surprised to see a HIGH risk upgrade for portions of the Moderate risk area.
We could see temperatures near the 75 to 80 degree range tomorrow afternoon in some areas, so I believe we might see some thunderstorms developing as early as the noon-4pm time frame. The risk of thunderstorms with isolated tornadoes will come within 2pm-11pm The whole system rolls into a squall line and that will bring the risk of damaging wind from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Saturday. The main threat for tornado producing thunderstorms looks to be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m...
All modes of sever weather will be possible including long track tornadoes, straight line winds in excess of 70mph, dangerous lightning, and very large hail. Make sure you have a severe weather plan in place and ways to hear the current warnings when issued.
